About Us

Nick Cameron (owner/executive officer):

A native Duluthian, Nick graduated from Duluth East High School in ‘97 and went on to earn a BS in Statistics at the University of Minnesota-Duluth (many years later). Not wanting to get a real job, Nick bounced around the globe, making stops in Montana, Alaska, New Zealand, and Hawaii. During a stay on the “Big Island,” Nick took a job as a server/tour guide at the Kona Brewing Company. Here he first learned the basics of brewing beer (after having long ago learned the basics of drinking beer). Upon returning to Duluth, he took a job as a bartender at Fitger’s Brewhouse.  He soon took extra work cleaning kegs and assisting the brewers, including one Bob Blair. Somehow Cameron kissed enough butt to move up the ladder and became a full-time brewer himself. A few short years later, he and Bob branched out to found Dubrue, using their collective knowledge of beer and the local Duluth market to strike out on their own.

Nick is married, has one daughter and lives in Duluth’s Lakeside neighborhood. His hobbies include: watching football (while drinking beer), hiking and camping (while drinking beer), and taking his clothes off (after drinking a lot of beer).

Bob Blair (owner/head brewer):

Another Duluth native, Bob also graduated from Duluth East where he moonlighted as a male cheerleader(class of 98). Rather than be a worthless vagabond (like Nick), Bob decided to join the army after high school and become a tank mechanic. Following his service, Bob made the natural transition to the Food Science program at Oregon State. There, he specialized in the study of the fermentation process. He earned his BS in 2004 and found work at Mcmenimans in Troutdale and Tyee Winery in Corvalis. He eventually found his way back to Duluth and with his impressive credentials, he was hired as a brewer by Fitger’s Brewhouse. There, Bob did more than just brew their beer.  He helped them develop recipes that are still used by Brewhouse brewers today. Soon, Nick was hired and the two became friends. A few years later, the Brewhouse was in the rear-view and Dubrue was born!

Bob is married and has one daughter. He lives in Duluth’s Chester Park neighborhood. His hobbies include dressing up in Star Trek uniforms, laughing maniacally, and dancing (after drinking a lot of beer).
